FILM
SCRAP/FLUFF RECOVERY SYSTEMS
We represent
Osprey's engineered systems for the recovery of film and
sheet scrap.
Typical fluff
systems consist of:
-
Trim Removal Inducers
to carry the edge and/or bleed trims away from the
production line.
-
Film Grinder to
chop/grind the continuous trims and any scrap rolls
into smaller particles known as "fluff"
-
Refeed Machine to
feed that fluff back into the production at the
desired scrap-to-virgin ratio.
Depending on the
application, fluff refeed rates of up to 25% are achievable,
higher in certain cases.
These systems are typically used with Smooth-bore extruder
barrels which are capable of handling this low bulk density
material. Grooved Feed extruders are not usually able to handle
"fluff" and require the trims to be repelletized
using an inline repelletizer (<--click for
info)...
